Our speaker for the evening will be Brian Wilkes, MES, R P .Bio. Topic of Discussion is Vancouver Island Environment and Watershed Issues.
Brian is a Victoria, BC based professional biologist and environmental consultant that has worked on numerous water and watershed related projects in Canada and in several international settings, such as the Philippines, Venezuela and Russia. He has a special interest in policy and governance arrangements to improve water and watershed management as well as issues related to sustainability. Brian is a director of BC Nature and Nature Victoria as well as a volunteer on various boards and committees regarding parks and natural areas for the District of Saanich. Brian is married and has lived in Victoria since 2005 and enjoys gardening, golf and sport fishing. Now mostly retired Brian operates a small business making and repairing custom golf clubs.
