John Wilson assumed the role of CEO of the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce on July 14, 2025.
As the unapologetic voice of business in our region, the Chamber is guided by its mission of Working Together to Build Good Business and a Great Community for All. Its work spans advocacy with all levels of government, hosting the region’s premier business and networking events, and championing policies that attract investment, new businesses, and families to Greater Victoria for generations to come.
John brings more than 40 years of leadership experience in the ground transportation and tourism sectors. He is widely respected for his commitment to strengthening both the business community and the broader region through collaboration, advocacy, and strategic leadership.
His extensive governance experience includes serving as Past Chair of the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce, Chair of Motor Coach Canada, and Co-Chair of the Victoria Hockey Legacy Society. He is the Canadian Representative to the United Motorcoach Association and Past President of Victoria’s SKÅL Club. John has also contributed as a Board Member of the City of Victoria’s Economic Development and Downtown Prosperity Task Force, the Tourism Industry Association of Canada, and as a committee member of Destination Greater Victoria’s Destination Management and Transportation Committee and the Greater Victoria Sport Tourism Commission.
Throughout his career and volunteer leadership, John has demonstrated a deep commitment to building a strong, vibrant community and connected regional economy.
